Life can be overwhelming at times. Whether you are trying to juggle family and school or you are trying to build a business it can all be draining. And we live in a society that is all or nothing. We go hard or we are lazy. There seems to be a lack of balance and effort when it comes to connections in our overly connected world.
What happened to the simplicity?
What happened to the little gestures?
Memories are made in the simple moments of life.
Coffee with a girlfriend.
Bedtime stories.
A morning text from your spouse.
We have lost the art of making simple moments more meaningful.
We live in a world where bigger is better.
It is all about having the most elaborate engagement, wedding, baby announcement… this list can go on and on.
What about the simple moments?
What about real life?
I can still remember doing laundry as my boyfriend came behind me and got on his knee and asked me to be his wife. I was in sweatpants and doing laundry yet it was sweet, simple and real.
Simplicity.
Small moments.
Thoughtful gestures.
Take some time today to reach out to a loved one just to say hello and tell them you were thinking of them.
Those small things matter more than the big stuff.
Father God help us to slow down and focus on the simple things in life. Help us to reach out and connect with our family and friends. We thank you for the simple things in life. Amen.
